COVID-19 Update

During these scary, unprecedented and uncertain times we wanted to take a moment to remind you that we are open for business and still maintaining the excellent level of representation and service that clients have come to expect from our law firm. As always, we are easy to reach and are available to speak to both new clients and our loyal existing clients. In addition, we are actively monitoring and implementing the guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the New York State Governor’s Office in order to keep our clients, attorneys and staff safe.

While you may have heard that the Courts are closed, that is only partially true. Federal Courts remain open with some changes in operations while New York State Courts still have limited operations that are considered essential such as criminal arraignments, orders of protection, Family Court emergencies and red flag proceedings to name a few.

We are still open for business and available to meet in person and by appointment in our clean and uncrowded office while maintaining appropriate safe social-distancing practices. In addition, our lawyers are available by telephone, facetime, skype and zoom for remote meetings. Most transactions, including signatures and financial transactions can now be accomplished electronically.

Our business hours remain unchanged. We can be reached for routine matters by telephone during our normal business hours of 9 am to 7 pm and as usual are available to emergencies only 24 hours each and every day including Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays.

New clients are welcome to call to speak to an attorney and have an immediate and free case consultation over the phone with one of our experienced attorneys. For existing clients, please do not attend any scheduled Court appearances, depositions, hearings or mediations without confirming your attendance in advance with our office.

While the Governor of New York has extended statutes of limitations and other deadlines until April 19, 2020, it is important to discuss these changes with an attorney and not wait until the last minute. In addition, we have been in constant contact with the Courts and the guidance from the Courts is changing on a regular basis. In that regard, we are actively following and implementing guidance from government agencies including the New York State Governor’s Office and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) as that information becomes available.

During these unprecedented times, it is essential that we all stay safe and follow the recommendations of medical professionals. It is also essential that you know that our firm is here to support you in any way that we can. Legal issues don’t disappear during national emergencies.
